Tuscarawas County is home to many types of agriculture, from livestock to produce. One newer form of agriculture that many want to gain traction is aquaculture, or the farming of of the water. Fish farms have become highly profitable way for people to use excess land.
"The average yield per acre with aquaculture is $14,000," said Marty Domer, owner of Blue Ribbon Farm Fish and founder of the Fish Farmers of Ohio Association. "The amount made far surpasses anything else."
