Blue Ribbon Farm Fish is a result of many fish farmers working together in order to supply this Countries largest import, second only to oil 98% of all sea food consumed in Ohio is imported. We started supplying this industry back in the early 80's.
We at Blue Ribbon have many years experience producing fingerlings, site evaluations, pond construction, fish harvesting, consulting and marketing. We are one of the only companies in the country that has the experience to do it all.
As a result Ohio is the number one Yellow Perch producing State in the Country. We are the number one Blue Gill providing State in the Country, number four in Large Mouth Bass producing State and number six in Hybrid Striped Bass producing in the country. As a means to better the Aquaculture Industry we have created the Fish Farmers of Ohio Association. Many people consider Tuscarawas County as the birth place of the Aquaculture Industry. Many people feel aquaculture is the best alternative to breathe life back into small family farms. Fish Farmers of Ohio Association has plans to initiate many forms of research, that has yet to be conducted. Aquaculture in Ohio is wide open.
Ohio has the absolute best climate in the Country for growing a wide variety of fish commercially. Blue Ribbon Farm Fish meads three million pounds annually just starting out. We need many, many more fish farmers involved to help us supply this wide open industry.
